What is a "travel"?

| コメント(0) | トラックバック(0)

This is Toshi with Yadoya Guesthouse.

I've been working at Yadoya 8 years and also have 20 years of experience in trading business. It means I had been traveled many time many place. but every time I abroad I had "The purpose".

I go somewhere with some purpose, and complete it and back. Not only business trip, even vacations, go somewhere to see some or to do some.

I thought "Travel" is something like that.

But, working at Yadoya Guesthouse I met a lot of travelers and some of them are really strange.

For example, stay whole day in his room and go out just for buy something to eat and one day gone. or Come to office everyday to use internet many hours and chating with friends at his home town long time.
or play games whole day. Sometime I want to ask them why are you traveling? You can do it at home.

Travel has no rule. everybody can travel their own way.

But I want to say following word, It from Argentinian Movie "El Viaje"(The journey).

"life is long journey, working hard and enjoy a lot, If you feel it was boring at the end of your journey, it is a sin"

THE TIME HAS COME IN TOKYO!
I am Aki with Yadoya Guest house.
I plan to share some of ”Tokyo air” with world Travelers as a "piece and bits" of Tokyo daily life time by time.
It is going to be with my personal life in Tokyo.

This photo was taken 29th of November 2009 at  one of the most beautiful Japanese garden in central Tokyo. It is at a kind of hidden location which could not see from outside.

When I  stood at this pond yesterday, I felt like I was not in Tokyo and I was not living in 21st century .

This is a timeless place in Tokyo

This is Alex from Yadoya Guesthouse.
I am an Australian with Argentinian blood and, as I like to say, a Japanese heart.
I came to Tokyo,  about 5 years ago and although I havent been living in Nakano for all those years,  it was the first town in Japan that I have lived in, and so it has become like my second hometown. Or the home away from home.
There are many thing interesting and good about Nakano, conviniently close to major city centers like Shinjuku. Has both JR and Metro train lines, and there are many interesting shops and reasonably priced restaurants around the town.

Now, today Id like to speak a little about a restaurant wich I recently found.
Very close to the office there is a really nice Yakiniku restaurant. Yakiniku for those who dont know is probably best translated as Korean BBQ in English. It is a place where they serve you dishes of  sliced raw meat which you then cook yourself in the grill on the table. Pure genius if you tell me!

Normally these yakiniku places are rather expensive, as meat, especially beef can be expesive in Japan, but this little restaurant is quite reasonable.

It is especially cheap during lunch time, 500yen for one dish of meat, rice adn all you can eat kimuchi and other pickled vegetables, ( I recomend the moyashi(bean sprouts). You can then order another dish for only 250 yen extra!
Of course you cant get all the cuts during lunch time, but there are quite a few to choose from. Usually I would order 2 dishes so it will end up costing me 750 yen for lunch, a bargain price if you tell me!

Lunch time is from : 12:00- 14:00
Althought I dont know the address of the place,
you can find it by going away from the station, South exit,  towards the Post office. It would be the street parallel to Nakano street.
The Yakiniku restaurant is directly opposite to the game center and next to a  takoyaki shop,  go down the stairs to the basement floor.

If you have any questions about this restaurant, other places to eat  or would like to know more about Nakano, then please leave a comment below or ask  for Alex at YADOYA Guesthouse!

This is mari with YADOYA guesthouse.
I moved to Tokyo about 10years ago and working in YADOYA for almost 8years.
I met many people from all over the world at YADOYA, and they went to travel around Japan, mainly, Kyoto or some major cities.
I`ve been thinking if I could let people know about my home town in the future.  So today, I just put one photo on this blog.

This is a photo of Irago Misaki which is in Aichi prefecture. It`s about 50km from my hometown, and I visited there with my families and friends 2-3times in every year when I was small. It is so beautiful place and there is also beach called Koijigahama the famous place for the couples.

Please ask Mari at YADOYA Guesthouse if you would like to know about the place!

It`s been already 8years since we started YADOYA Guesthouse, and it is going to be our 9th next year. It has been a  long time but it also feels like its been just moment at the same time.
We are having a good time, meeting many of our guests and having good time together here. And we`ve go many good friends throught this job.
Although this blog is just a diary of our staff, hopefully it would be good for others to read our comments about Japan living and other things which might be interesting for people wanting to travel to Japan and be interested in places to go, eat or to understand the culture better.
